Grooming

Adjusting to the humidity in Kentucky takes some time. We've all been making little changes to help ourselves feel more comfortable. For example, I apply deodorant twice a day. This helps things stay fresh.
Shaun wanted to feel fresh too. So the hair had to go.

Naturally, he chose Grant to cut his hair. After all, Grant has had some experience. He used to cut Sharon's hair. And he has great attention to detail. Anyone who can draw a portrait on a tooth, can certainly trim a little hair, right? To be honest, I was skeptical. Very skeptical.

Shaun chose a nice David Beckham hair cut to copy.

So, with this picture and a pair of craft scissors, Grant got to work.
Shaun freaked. "Dude, you're just going to start cutting. You've got to think about this!"

Grant focused on the left side first, taking cues from Shaun. "Look at the picture then decide where to cut next, just like you're painting!" "Cut vertically, not horizontally!" "Use the comb!"
I equipped Shaun with a little hand mirror to provide a little comfort. At least then he could see what was going down.
There were a few scary moments. The right side ended up a bit shorter than the left. Oops. Grant kept a nice rooster tail for a while. Shaun no likey.

But eventually they ended up with something they could both agree on.
And I must say, Shaun was looking pretty darn good.
Nice work, to the both of you!

  1. Haircuts might just be one of my favorite things you do in Kentucky. I laughed. Hard.

And deodorant twice a day! That would totally be me!

  2. And I'm using your deodorant, Connie! You left the powerful stuff. I'm using it. Hope that's okay.
I also found a white shirt and the other half of your toothbrush holder. Would you like them sent back to you?
