Knoxvilling

In honor of Pioneer Day, we did a little bit of trekking.
And by trekking I mean we drove three hours south to Knoxville, TN to visit Staci Lucy Angel Cutie Pie Apple of My Eye Lover Lips.
Knoxville is sort of in between Concord, NC and Lexington, KY.

We let the GPS do the trip planning. Apparently the World's Fair was held there in 1982 and they are hanging on to that bit of fame for dear life! The park where the fair is held is their main attraction.

The fountains are a magnet for all creatures seeking some cool refreshment. Had we known to wear a worn-out swimsuit or a tank top with cut off shorts, we could have participated in the fun.

Instead we rode an elevator up a bit to overlook the city. It was air conditioned, so we stayed. A while. Met an African and danced with the hoodlums who also found shelter in the cool building.

The GPS then led us to a tasty little restaurant called Tomato Head. We were too hot, hungry, and thirsty  to take any pictures.

Then we gave in. There was a mini fountain there. We let Josie play. To say she LOVED it. would be an understatement.

 

 I know that's a lot of fountain pictures. Don't like it? You tell me one to get rid of. I bet you can't choose one. See. That's why there are a lot of fountain pictures.

Driving to Knoxville was a great treat. Thanks for taking the long leg Staci. What a great way to honor the Pioneers.
